Heike is the co-director and founder of the Centre de recherche d\u2019\u00e9tudes litt\u00e9raires et culturelles sur la plan\u00e9tarit\u00e9 (Research Center of Cultural and Literary Planetary Studies) at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. She is an associate professor of English in the D\u00e9partement de litt\u00e9ratures et de langues du monde (U de M) and specializes in postcolonial and globalization studies. Her work mobilizes the reparative and critical capabilities of the creative imagination as a means of knowledge production. Her research addresses literary and cinematic representations of political violence, global civil war, and the relationship between planetary militarism, anthropogenic climate change, and the crisis of human and nonhuman reproduction.
