Dr Heike Härting
Heike is the co-director and founder of the Centre de recherche d’études littéraires et culturelles sur la planétarité (Research Center of Cultural and Literary Planetary Studies) at the Université de Montréal. She is an associate professor of English in the Département de littératures et de langues du monde (U de M) and specializes in postcolonial and globalization studies. Her work mobilizes the reparative and critical capabilities of the creative imagination as a means of knowledge production. Her research addresses literary and cinematic representations of political violence, global civil war, and the relationship between planetary militarism, anthropogenic climate change, and the crisis of human and nonhuman reproduction. Her most recent research focuses on the uneven “viral conjunctures” recounted in pandemic and planetary health narratives from non-Western geopolitical spaces.
